went to the dentist today

they used pliers and ripped two teeth out of my face

ooh my god, that was so fucking bad

the act itself was alright. had benzos to keep me calm, the shots worked really well to keep the pain away... but on my way out they already stopped working

i was scrambling hard to get my antibiotics, go home and take some tilidin my mom left me behind

... the dentist only gave me ibuprofen, which did nothing

Save up something for getting a good night's sleep tonight!

(just don't overdose or overdo it).

I had my wisdom teeth removed, and the pain wasn't THAT bad...until I tried going to sleep later that day.

LOL I love how they give you benzos to keep you calm & out of their hair while they are working on you, but send you away with nothing. "Your pain is YOUR pain..."

the benzos i got from my GP, he knows i wouldnt go to a dentist without them, so, to help me, he gives me some to use for those exact scenarios.

Dentists rarely ever prescribe you any of the good meds you actually need to endure their treatments (if youre as crazy as me, that is and get scared of just making a dentist appointment...)

Makes me question who the hell people are seeing for a dentist. Corbin Bernsen from The Dentist movie? LOL!

I've had all of my wisdom teeth and a couple others removed and was never in agony and never had any intolerable pain... and that's coming from a person who doesn't deal well with pain at all. Find a different dentist.
 
no ice cream for me.
i just randomly fell asleep, for many hours.
i slept really deeply. my friends were messaging me, even calling me, i heard NONE of that, at all.
i was just absolutely gone.
oh well, woke up and it didnt hurt anymore, so theres that!

You have my sympathies. I have a childhood trauma with dentists and I can't go to one without taking some benzos beforehand (Rovotril works for me).

same! Without these Tavor (benzos) pills id have been so screwed.
for me it was a midnight emergency doctors appointment when i was a kid.
had a root canal by a very surly and sleepy doctor close to midnight.
he wasnt doing a good job, he hurt me a lot... i mean it was a miracle we found anyone on call during the night anyway, but that really traumatised me. you know?

My case, I was 8yo, my parents want me to use braces, and the stupid dentist removed 1 tooth with insufficient anesthesia.
Long story short, I was never able to sit at a dentist chair without panic attacks. Even today, as an old fart, many many years after that episode, I still can't without benzos.

oh wow, i feel exactly the same way.
i always think back to the pain, the smells, the experiences and i cant let go and i panic.
i start sweating so profusely that one dentist refused to treat me, he said he was worried i would fall out of the chair.
i had taken one Tavor pill that day. i chnged dentists and now take two pills.
