Commit comments should not be taken literally. The fact that “completed” is written somewhere is an internal code for a specific part.
But at this stage, the script only requires minor corrections to individual lines, so the more people test it and report any errors or oversights, the better.
I'm not omniscient either, so if anyone thinks that a line should sound different, I recommend reporting it. After all, this is a huge JRPG with a really large amount of text (although Xenoblade 2 had more).
I took it from the readme that everything is translated but needs editing and correction

I do feel a bit omniscient that I finished XC2 mere hours before the retranslation for XC3 released though

Question is there a way to get this mod to work with the Ultimate XC3 Rebalance Mod?
Short answer: no.
The "rebalance" mod modifies files that are essential for the translation to work.
Theoretically, someone could manually merge the changes from that mod into mine, but it wouldn't make much sense practically. It would require a significant amount of work, and essentially every time I update my translation mod, the entire merging process would have to be redone from scratch.

It's actually very easy.
The conflicting files are battle.bdat, menu.bdat and system.bdat. All other files are exclusive to each mod.

So an easy solution to this is to use your extraction tool to extract the files form both mods.
I then set up a local git repo, put the Rebalance files into this folder and created a commit and then overwrote them with the translation files. With my Git GUI (SourceTree) I then went through the changes and kept the balance changes while commiting the translation changes.

Took me around 15 minutes. (I haven't tested them ingame)

Overwrite the files in romfs\bdat\gb\game after putting both mods in the same folder

Gave it a try and it looks like its working from what I can tell.

Not seeing a link to your Discord so I'm forwarding some feedback here from my brother.

He suggests adding Omoi to the furigana as it is frequently used for its various meanings, and reports that during the prison scene in chapter 5 and the Nia scene in chapter 6 the dialogue is out of sync from the subtitles.

Also from myself the dialogue with Samon about the 300 ether cylinders is not properly lined up with which character is actually speaking and initially has Samon referring to himself as Riku.

V0.2.5
V0.2.5

This update mainly involves polishing the existing translation. Many lines sounded unnatural and have been corrected. Several instances where “A” was still referred to as “they” have also been corrected. Many side quests have been retranslated. A few names have been corrected.

One question. I don't know if this is something you've already noticed in your work so far:

I remember an analysis where discussed a translation issue that often arises in Xenoblade 3 when using words like feelings, memories, legacy, concepts, or will.

Actually, in Japanese, they are all translations of the same word, omoi. The analysis understood that it was difficult to translate due to the word's mutability in Japanese, but that the localization certainly lost an important aspect.

Some examples:
Z is a concept // Z is omoi
Rex: someone else will carry your dreams // someone else carries your omoi
Lucky Seven: what matters is the will of the bearer // what matters is the omoi of the bearer

Noah: "I think about it all the time, what we leave when we are gone, what that connection truly means"
Mio: "omoi" (while in English she says "heavy stuff")

This is a concept that the author apparently developed back in Xenosaga when he introduced "the will of power."

Just popping in to say how much I appreciate the improved translation. I'm currently doing a replay after a few years and man.... what a difference. The english dub was great for what it was, but this subbed version just hit so much harder for me.

Thank you again for sharing this with us!

Looks like there was an update to the rebalance mod. Is this still compatible? Thanks!
Thank you for notifying me. There were a few changes in the battle menu file.
Here is the new compatible mod for the 8.2 beta

About game version:

The 2.0.0 update (the time when the 4 DLC were released) does not work with this mod. Yuzu loads this mod but the in-game text remains unchanged.

The 2.2.1 update does not work with yuzu. yuzu immediately crashed after loading the [v720896] NSP. (even dragging this NSP into yuzu game folder would trigger crash.) The firmware and prod keys have been updated to the newest version (22.1.0) already.

The 2.2.0 update (before Switch 2 release) works fine with yuzu, and this mod works fine too. (However you probably need to use a private tracker to find this patch, as all public sites only provide 2.2.1 (the newest) patch.)

PS: For yuzu user with strange blur issue on 2.2.0, the mods here (description section) resolve the issue. (I didn't use the 60fps mod, as it's not related to blur.)

Hi. The problem is that you're using a totally outdated Yuzu emulator. Use Citron or Eden (Citron isn't being developed anymore either, but it still works).

BTW, does this retranslation fix the Future Redeemed DLC? (I am thinking whether to replay the DLC story first.)
