Hacking Trying to install d2x cIOS installer from wii.hacks.guide, not showing up on homebrew and deleting from my sd card when i bring it back to PC

Ive been trying to get homebrew going on my wii for the past couple hours, I got homebrew channel running and priiload all good, im trying to install the d2x cIOS installer but every time i copy the apps file from d2xios installer to root of sd card&plug the SD into wii to then run the installer it never shows up? is this required? I tried also installing open shop channel that did not work either.

I have checked the lock on my SD card, folder paths, etc.

After seeing it doesnt work i power off the wii remove SD card, and put it back into the computer where the file i copied over(apps file from d2x cios into SD card root) is gone. I am using wii.hacks guide

any idea what i need to be doing or anything im doing wrong, or another way i could be doing it?

Try modmii, u don't even need that hbc app as ModMii installs cios using a wad manager instead

Or u could share the structure of your sd card and see why the app is missing? Presumably u see other apps in the hbc since u were able to install priiloader? If u have both a usb and sd connected press 1 on the wiimote to choose the device u want to launch apps from

thank you for quick reply. i was able to get d2x cios installer on HBC with the USB, thank you. I assume i can follow the wii.hacks guide from here? I will be sure to use try modmii if i run into any other issues. Thank you again

d2x custom install is running now but cant go anywhere past "press any button to continue"

ok im sorry for multiple responses, but the installer stopped on "installing d2x v6base 37 rev21006 into slot 249 "

I turned the wii off and disconnected the USB drive now its corrupted lol. I should have USB stick but i also have a usb external drive but do you know what happened? I assume its just incompatibility or because i turned it off while installing? I dont rlly want to try again with my 1tb hard drive and have it corrupt so if i do the offline install steps for the 4 WADS i should be good???

If i decide to use modmii can i just start using it without removing anything?
