I do not recommend this to anyone with a life! Or responsibilities!

So, it all started when the lock on my bedroom door started malfunctioning and wouldn't open from the inside. More specifically, the inner handle rotates and retracts the latch, but the door can't be unlocked if it has been locked. I learned this earlier this month when I forgot to fully shut the door on my way in and locked it that way, after which it wouldn't unlock without me using a key from the outside. Usually, turning the inner handle would disarm the lock. I've had this door for probably decades now, so it's to be expected.

Anyway, this gave me an idea. Since I have to replace it anyway, it wouldn't be too bad if I broke or damaged it. So I decided to lock myself in my room with a bunch of unplayed games, the required consoles [and food] that have been bothering me from their place on my shelf for a very long time. I have 500ish unfinished games, but I only picked 10 of the small 5-15 hour titles since a week is only so much time. I will probably pick more if there's a next time and I have 30 days to spare.

Still, I would not have any distractions in there [I unplugged my router and left my phone and PC outside] and 112 hours is a pretty respectable amount of time for a first try. It's all the free time I'll have for the next few months, really.

Typing this all out makes it sound pretty crazy tbh but it went pretty well though I definitely brought too much food. I don't think a "vacation" like this needs 2000 calories a day, lol. At least, I got to finish all of the 10 games I had picked.

So, you have no way to play your games and.......you'll piss in the corner carpet like a bum on the Subway for 4 days straight or what? Stream/record it with a timer or how would this get validated anyways?
This might help you with that question. If not:
I decided to lock myself in my room with a bunch of unplayed games, the required consoles
I have an attached bath/toilet accessible from my bedroom.
Fun, which games?
Undertale, NSMB U, SMB Wonder + DLC, three DS Phoenix Wrights, DDLC, Ikaruga, Persona 3, and a porn game.

I remember a south park episode when they were trying to beat some guy in world of warcraft that kept killing them. They did the same sort of thing, when catman needed a shit he shouted for his mum and she would come down with a bucket and he would shit in it without getting up from the computer chair.

This epsiode of south park reminds me of this post.

Thread title:... It helped solve my backlog problem
Math : 500ish-10 = 490ish. Given that this took about 5 days (or one month in free time), you'll need around 49 extra months (4 years) to clear the backlog. Without buying anything, of course. :)

But okay... Jokes aside: yes it sounds crazy. Did you let others know you'd be offline for a while? Did you have an escape plan in case of emergency?
