I tried asking on Reddit, but I haven't got a response, so I'll try here: It's been some time since started using NX-Update-Checker to see what needs to be updated. Naturally, I managed to install all the necessary update NSPs, except for DLC Wave 4 of Xenoblade 3 that, according to the application, needs to be updated from v131072 to v196608. So the question is, do I really need to update the DLC to v196608, or will v131072 simply do?

I know, but I want to know is if there's any difference between v131072 (which I can find) and v196608 (which I cannot find).

You know what update version are those, you can look at the change log if you know what version update they are. I mean if you don't want wave 4 dlc, you need minimum of version 1.3 update,

Base on this

2.2.1 v11 720896
2.2.0 v10 655360
2.1.1 v9 589824
2.1.0 v8 524288
2.0.0 v7 458752
1.3.0 v6 393216
1.2.1 v5 327680
1.2.0 v4 262144
1.1.1 v3 196602
1.1.0 v2 131072
1.0.0 v1 65536

Based on what you provided it you got 131072 1.1.0 update, and 196602 is 1.1.1 update,

You are misunderstanding the op. Your info is for the base game updates. Switch library manager and update checking apps all show an update to the actual Wave 4 DLC from 131072 to 196608. However, there is absolutely zero information regarding that update anywhere online.

I am using base game with update 2.2.1 (v720896) & my Wave 4 DLC is v131072, same as op, and everything seems to work fine.

Someone with a modded Switch that owns the DLC from the eShop would have to confirm or deny the existence of the update to the DLC. My feeling is that it is just an error in the database and that it may not actually exist.

A v196608 update for DLC Wave 4 does exist. Is it not available on Nintendo eShop anymore? (I haven't checked). If so, it might have been pulled for some reason I guess.

Well 131072 just give people access to the expansion pass, and 2.0.0 update give people access to wave 4, unless someone repack, then I don't know I guess.

No idea as I do not have the DLC purchased. Thanks for confirming that it exists, or did exist. Someone with a modded Switch and has the DLC purchased would have to check. It's weird though that there exists no changelog for the DLC update anywhere.

You are still confusing updates to the base game with the update to the DLC itself.

Actually no, 2.0.0 added the function to recieve wave 4, read the changelog obviously if people didn't have the expansion dlc files then no access, I mean maybe someone repackage the update.

131072 just unlock the expansion pass, without the data for data for like wave 4.

Actually, yes. And you're still doing it. You are referencing updates and changelogs to the base game. We're talking about an update to the Wave 4 DLC file itself. Two completely different things.

I know what you mean the DLC files for wave 1-4 are seperate from the game update, the dlc files is about 4.4 gb, I guess for OP it really come down to if he want the wave 4 or not, future redeem was pretty fun though. Anyway to answer OP question if it neccessary it depends on if he wants Shulk and Rex in the base game.

Just to clarify in case there's still a misunderstanding here, yes, the base game needs an update to at least a minimum version to be able to use DLCs released later, but each DLC also has its own version (and updates), which is completely separate from those of the base game. The update to v196608 that OP asked about, updates the Wave 4 DLC itself to v196608, not the game.

No. You're still not getting it. Please stop.

Thank you. I'm not sure why the other user is not understanding.
