F.Y.I: I am new when it comes to modifying a switch; and I got someone else to do it for me when I decided to get my switch modded for the first time.

Like I said I am new to modding a switch, and after not updating it for a while I decided it was finally time to do it. I managed to update the firmware, atmosphere and tinfoil, without any problems, But when I decided to connect my switch to the internet and use the tinfoil shop like I used to do before, the following would happened.

IMG20240708002029.jpg

Error code: 2123-0011 (0x167b) // program: 0100000000000025.

I don't know if I some how missed a step while updating it, but every time I try to connect it to the internet to use the tinfoil shop this happens. I've come to understand that this happens because my switch is trying to connect the the Nintendo severs (or something like that), but I have no idea on how to fix this and allow my switch to safely connect to the internet and allow me to use tinfoil like I did before.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Previously using apps like Incognito or other prodinfo blanking apps cause crashing on FW 17.0.0+
Writeup on why this happens/happened here

To fix, unzip this to your atmosphere folder. This blocks connections to Nintendo servers, which is causing the crash.
\atmosphere\hosts\emummc.txt and sysmmc.txt

This has been asked (and solution provided) SOOO many times on this forum. A quick search copuld have saved time for both you and people helping you out

The writeup is not about this. It is about the semi brick that happened when updating HOS to 17.0 if you had previously used homebrew to reset your Switch

Yeah, I saw that when I opened the thread, and saw the similar threads, thats entirely on me, but I just wanted to play safe I guess, because for some resons those threads never came up when I searched around in google for the fix, and only some older threads on reddit came up, and they alway provided some either conflicting information, or unclear steps (atleast for me).

Regardless, after searching around the similar threads, I found another thread that suggested the use of "exosphere / DNS MITM", which seems to have worked for me.

Thank you for the responses, I'll look more thoroughly for fixes next time.

But…this is exactly what was happening to OP? A FW 17+ “semi brick” (crash) due to prodinfo blanking…? Am I wrong?

This is a different kind of "semi brick"
OP's Switch crashed because he had prodinfo blanked without blocking Nintendo servers (DNSmitm)
The writeup explain a more serious "semi brick" where users couldn't boot sysmmc after updating their Switch to fw17 if they had previously used homebrew to reset the Switch

No worries, I am just getting tired of answering the same question over and over that's all 🙂
Glad you solved it though
