    The SWAP MAGIC ISO could be accessed without a modchip too but I still don't get the utility of SwapMagic discs and CogSwap since a retail game that on top of that has to match the burned one is needed.

    I don't think a chip is needed to play CDs using ESR like you said since according to what I read, they just have to be converted to DVDs.
