    now my Wii is doing the same thing. sometimes i can reset it and it will boot fine and other times i get that tmd message. i wonder if its preloader that's causing this itself.

    Brand new Wii just bought this Christmas, not reading and backup copies but reading retail. are new Wiis not able to read backups? the disc drive just makes a bunch of noise when i put in a backup but not when i put in a retail.
