Hacking USB LOADER GX is slow to list GameCube games

I have mine set up in the best possible scenario as you are describing. I do have one question, would a "space" affect how it reads the folder name? The code indicates that it should be: path/TITLE[GAMEID]/game.iso but mine have an extra space between title and [gameid] path/TITLE...

Hacking USB LOADER GX is slow to list GameCube games

I was using Nintendont v5.486, updating to v6.489 did not fix my issues. No GameCube memory card. 300GB HDD MBR FAT32 1 Partion with 220 GameCube games / Same result on a smaller scale because of the smaller amount of games, takes 8-13 seconds on initial load. Nintendont still takes waaay...

Hacking USB LOADER GX is slow to list GameCube games

All my covers are on my SD card. I only have games on my HDD. Loading Times with Nintendont have always been way longer, something like 7-10 minutes from the HDD. I assume this is because it is actually opening and reading each individual title, where USB LOADER GX uses the ID in the folder name...

Hacking USB LOADER GX is slow to list GameCube games

I have placed about 35 GameCube games on my SD card. It loads them without issue. I just don't understand how USB LOADER GX can list all the Wii games in 5-10 seconds, yet it takes 30 seconds to show a smaller list of GameCube games. I wonder if there is a difference in how GX finds or caches...

Hacking USB LOADER GX is slow to list GameCube games

I managed to reformat the drive to 32k clusters and it shows the correct size. Still loads GC games slowly. I have tried multiple different drives at this point, so I don't think it is a HDD issue. The one thing ive noticed is that if the drive is in NTFS format then it will load the game list...

I have tried using a powered USB hub assuming it was a power issue, but that didn't change anything. I have also tried using the Sync FAT32 FS Info .... It didn't seem to help I will try reformatting the drive with the software you mentioned...

Wii games work fine. They load within 5 seconds as long as "GameCube" is not selected. Only one partition on my HDD. MBR

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
