Useless and pathetic reply. Contributed nothing of substance.

Not a single person who uses the excuse of "archiving" does so with the intention of genuinely archiving the data. As you stated, the perfect example of those who use that...
I ain't using the "straw man" argument, here. It is what it is. You see it most often when Nintendo's antics against someone happen.
They always come saying "this is why pirating Nintendo's games is OK!".
That is entitlement, no?
Funny how the option of "staying away from a company you think does bad things" doesn't register. Your notion is like claiming you deserve compensation because you don't like whatever practice they are conducting. Quite lying to yourself and...
Since when did people ever OWN other peoples/companies software that THEY wrote and sold?????
Unless YOU hired everyone on the project and made it clear that they're writing that software for YOU, its not YOUR OWN software.
A perpetual license...
It's a stupid quote. I pirate, but i often find the opinions of other pirates often pretty cringe. This may be my prime example.

Against that kind of nonsense? Miyamoto and his ilk can burn where they stand, because that is at least three bridges...
The mass majority of folks that claim preservation to justify piracy are only doing it for themselves, not actual preservation. You don't need thousands of people preserving the same digital thing. The handful of people that actually try to do it...
Complete ownership in fact technically never existed when buying most commercial games, as they come with a license granting you rights rather than giving you ownership. The difference comes in practicality, as the only thing really standing...
There seems to be an increasing amount of fervor behind digital preservation. I see a lot of content about media destruction and revocation of purchased content. Without fail, the top comments on videos like this are "If buying isn't owning, then...
And the Switch didn't have the benefit of playing an existing library like Switch 2 does, and Switch 2 actually helps with Switch 1 games which were bottlenecked in one form or another.
Dang, $1 cheaper than $900. Great deal!!

It honestly wasn't worth it to me back then, much less now at an inflated price.
Just buy a different Windows/Linux handheld or a Switch 2.
