    Why is this thread being bumped? Look at the date of OP, March 6th 2016, it's the 8th of February 2017 now, it seems like people didn't know that putting a N3DS (XL) in sleep mode would brick the console at the time, now everyone knows this and it even tells you not to put the 3DS in sleep mode...

    Go on your Linux computer, install devKitPro, download the package you want to compile and do this : sudo apt-get install build-essential Build-essential has most of the required bits and pieces you need for compiling Then try compiling your package.

    You can install A9LH on the latest FW now, so there's no point in doing that really, Nintendo charges a lot for their repairs, you're better off just buying another 3DS

    try using @zoogie 's modified safehax with fasthax P.S : if it doesn't work when using soundhax as a homebrew entrypoint you may want to try using another one Edit : also make sure you have a cartridge inserted otherwise safehax won't work

After all, what is the OTP really used for other than installing...

    There could be some user error, but from what I've read the devs said there is an unknown bug causing the OTPless installation to randomly brick. AFAIK they've tried lots of things but they can't manage to fix it, so OTPless should be a no go for everyone IMO :P
