    If one of you two get banned, the other one is instantly banned as well. You are basically sharing a console ID.

    I have used ctr-httpwn a few months ago, didn't get banned. Helped my friend CFW his console last saturday, didn't use ctr-httpwn, got banned.

    System transfer will transfer your NNID. If your NNID is banned, you will still be banned. This ban however is not a NNID ban but a console ban, changing console will not "lift" the ban, but your NNID will end up in a console that was never banned.

    I helped my friend get CFW last saturday. He didn't use doodlebomb, never even downloaded swapdoodle. Yet he was banned yesterday. Some may have been banned because of doodlebomb, but it's not the only detection vector

    You raise a good question. I'm not banned, but my friendlist is empty. Can someone else with an empty friendlist confirm he got banned ? EDIT: Disregard, having an empty friendlist does not prevent the ban, confirmed by other users below
