    I can't find a manual, but are you sure it's start you press and not O (given this is presumably a Japanese copy) or some other button? Closest I can find is for the Famicom where it says to press A.

    The Wii isn't 100% original hardware by default, the stock BC AFAIK involves under clocking hardware and isolating the Wii's extra assets. The question I'd have is whether the disc runs fine via stock BC/MIOS (the two 'IOS' responsible for BC via the disc channel) and a mod chip.
