I'd try another type of media and make it DVD-R (DL?? is this supported? )
I find that the house brand at staples or circuit city thats dvd-r works well and are cheap.

Its funny you say that.. This thread has been the most entertaining to read. I started a few days ago... and managed to follow the whole adventure to the beta testing of the upcoming release. My point is .... if you read this bad boy beginning to end... you will learn a thing or two if not...
So for i have softmodded 3 different consoles with much success... Today however.. we got a wii system at work that i went to modify and i got everything going as far as home brew channel goes..
I then proceeded to load CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042... following a reboot .. then i installed gold disk...
What he is saying that regardless of speed (3x or 6x) the wii will load the game properly because of the "wii disc read" command. The softmod needs to use "DVD-ROM disc" read command.
As i thought initially. So does this mean there is no way around it? Unless modifications are done on the DVD-ROM firmware...but that kind of defeats the purpose of the softmod right?
Then i will re-phrase myself. Current Limitations.
Because it is inevitable that the scene will produce an application that finds a way around the speed issue.
So its a software limitation, Screemer? Can any developers confirm?
Well, don't listen to your friend. As you've read in the thread, the load times are due to current hardware limitation. Extended load times are inevitable.
Email your friend the link to the thread.. the developers are live on the scene.
