    The AI Bubble burst

HBM was more profitable when they shut down crucial. There was enough DRAM inventory within the supply chain that allowed the prices to stay lower, especially as some consumers delayed purchases while they waited for the lower prices to return. Now that the inventory is lower, DRAM is now more...

    The AI Bubble burst

There was an attempt on this thread to conflate the recent pricing with a completely separate incident. Despite it being a generation ago. There are no communist countries involved in the production of electronics China isn't communist. They are state capitalist and aiming for socialism by...

    The AI Bubble burst

I'm not sure how much consumer memory that micron was shipping. While I've been a crucial customer for thirty years, in terms of their income, it's the business customers that keep their lights on. They will be ensuring that dell/etc are getting ram, so that when they have built their new fabs...

    The AI Bubble burst

There is little evidence that there is currently price fixing, just that they pled guilty previously. It's not in their interests to artificially keep prices too high, as it affects their long term profits.

    The AI Bubble burst

It takes ten years to build a fab and you have to be sure that there will be demand for that process when it's ready

    The AI Bubble burst

The GPU's need replacing every three years, the demand doesn't end until AI dies. If it never does, then you'll likely not have a job or have access to technology soon.

    The AI Bubble burst

The recent price changes seem due to china being better at making chips than we thought, rather than the AI bubble bursting. The biggest threat to AI currently is that everyone is realising how they are subsidising the utility bills of the AI data centers.

Hacking YouTuber Dammit Jeff offers large bounty for definitive PS5 modification in partnership with the FULU Foundation, currently sat at over $30,000

People have been sued for disclosing exploits since the invention of everything too. Especially since DMCA came out. Responsible disclosure allows you to avoid being sued, Jeff seems to want to just pass straight to disclose without being responsible. Sony have history of not liking this...

Hacking YouTuber Dammit Jeff offers large bounty for definitive PS5 modification in partnership with the FULU Foundation, currently sat at over $30,000

Only after the embargo, which is why Sony stopped wasting money suing people. It's unclear what they would do if someone dropped an exploit of a current firmware. The difficulty for this large bounty, is that they announced who they are, that they are going to give a large amount of money and...

Hacking YouTuber Dammit Jeff offers large bounty for definitive PS5 modification in partnership with the FULU Foundation, currently sat at over $30,000

DMCA makes security research illegal, you just have to hope that Sony take pity. Which they do if you disclose to them and keep to their embargo schedule. https://sites.duke.edu/thefinregblog/2023/04/05/security-researchers-battle-against-the-dmca/

Hacking YouTuber Dammit Jeff offers large bounty for definitive PS5 modification in partnership with the FULU Foundation, currently sat at over $30,000

The argument that Sony have been putting forward, is that the OS itself is copyright and the protection that is bypassed is gaining unauthorised access to the OS. So you would need to do it in a way that replaces the OS entirely, including up the chain of trust to the IPL. However bypassing...

    Tutorial PS5 Exploit Guide

It is a straw man, because all I'm proposing is making sure that Sony can't easily find out who developed the exploit that Louis etc is paying for. You are legally allowed to use an agent for payments, this is not tax evasion. Louis is not going to demand that the identity of the person that...

I suspect they will, the question is whether they will pay out before Sony sues them.

    Tutorial PS5 Exploit Guide

I'm only ignorant of how much you were ignoring my point and trying to build a strawman. But have fun. The fl0w could easily accept this bounty without Sony knowing. There is no law that makes him admit to Sony that he did it. Louis isn't going to force him to, because it works against him.
