    Ok, I saw the option in the ModMii menu to install/run CFG USB Loader from my harddrive but chose SD at that time anyway. I want to switch it now, will my forwarder look for it on the HD without issue or do I have to uninstall/re-install the forwarder?

    Got it figured out. I was being stupid and not plugging the drive into the Wii before turning the Wii on. Works great now. Next is to figure out a way to allow me to cut power to the wallwart for the drive & the power adapter for the Wii when not in use (need to save as much money as possible...

    Ok, Disconnected the Buffalo drive and plugged in my 8GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro. Works fine with that. Could it just be that my Wii doesn't like the drive I chose?
