Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

GREAT NEWS guys! Finally I've got this whole thing to work, and guess what was the cause of all my frustrations? The SD Card. I've picked up a SanDisk UHC-1 64GB microSD at the electronics store this time and was pleasantly surprised, while sweating I might add, that the NAND dumper was...

Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

Alright then, I got the very same error again after swapping these two files anyway. Since it's getting rather late here in Switzerland (currently 00:06AM), I am going to suspend any further attempts at getting this damn thing to work until tomorrow. Next time I'll try it with a SDHC SD...

I can certainly try that. Why did you decide to move said files though? Have you experienced problems with the compiled fw.img without your modifications?

Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

Yeah, I tried that already but I'm stuck at "Choose cfw booter and then go to your Wii U console and just tap the power button (You cannot hit the gamepad power button) it'll format your sd card and dump your nand to it, be patient." due to a reason that's being actively discussed in this thread.

Yep. If that wouldn't have been the case then I wouldn't even be able to boot fw.img using CFWbooter.

The SD is actually formatted in FAT32, as can be seen below. Windows Explorer just doesn't show me the format of the partition for any drive when viewed from "This PC".

Quick question: I've just noticed that my microSD is in the SDXC format. Could it be that the dumper is unable to access SDs in this format? I kind of doubt it to be honest but I'm not quite sure.

I'm pretty sure that dev/... stuff is supposed to happen as well, but those numbers after the path indicating a kernel panic surely don't mean anything good. Especially if it doesn't even let me dump the NAND and instead just crashes. The SD has plenty of space available, so that is not a concern.

As I've already stated above, it is formatted with your recommended cluster size.

Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

Alright, so I can finally report back with some news. I managed to compile the fw.img after fiddling around with some erros I've encountered during the installation. Unfortunately the system crashes back to the home screen after launching fw.img, only showing me the usual red screen and...

Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

Alright, first of all thank you for providing such a swift answer. I guess I should have seen this coming. The reason why I haven't compiled it myself is because I figured a precompiled version would suffice, but that might be very well not be the case. I'll go ahead and perform the steps in...

Hacking [Solved] Unable to dump NAND

This problem has been solved! Problem was the Transcend MicroSD, specifically the model TS64GUSDU1. While the WiiU was able to read and launch homebrew from that card, the dumper, or the console in general, was unable to write to it. So I've simply purchased a SanDisk 64GB MicroSD...
