i reckon youll need to find a c++ lib for image processing. because the author needs to know all about the file format of images , like headers and all that stuff before the actual raw image data. theres a free one called imagemagick @AliceCE -

i presume the 3ds lib you're using would already have such functions. they should be defined in its API
