Hardware Joycons not charging when the switch is plugged in

In my case it wasn’t the chip labeled with „PU“, it was caused by this diode next to the fan FPC, which was causing a short on the 5V line.

Hardware Joycons not charging when the switch is plugged in

I think I found the resbonsible parts in this post here -> https://www.tronicsfixforum.com/t/5v-boost-ic-chip/579/8 can anybody tell me how to check these parts from the images? in diode mode both? and on which contacts? and does anybody know the readings? thanks!

Hardware Joycons not charging when the switch is plugged in

hi! I‘m having the same issue, I already tried switching the fan and the rails, but that didn‘t help. Can you please post an image of the PU Chip you‘re talking about? that would be great, thanks!

Hardware Multiple shorted caps near P13USP, M92T36 and ALC5639

yeah, I had the same issues at the beginning. make sure that you're really using a bigger noozle than the one for the phones or the M92T36 ic on the NS so that you can apply the heat on a wider area. I do it always like this: 1. Apply some flux 2. Heat up the CPU/APU with about 400° until the...

pls see --> https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-blue-screen-of-death-reballing-soc-nvidia-tegra.556346/page-2#post-9059323 for reballing the CPU :-)

Hardware Board swap, but which components?

@iTechCareRepair here you can order the stencil for the CPU --> https://de.aliexpress.com/item/4000096651064.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dBJLmUd just select "direct heating" as product variant and you'll get the correct stencil

sounds like it's the same issue I had (SoC broken) --> https://gbatemp.net/threads/multiple-shorted-caps-near-p13usp-m92t36-and-alc5639.562151/

    Hardware M92t36 pin 6

hey guys! I checked the M92T36 a few days later and the 3,5V from PIN 6 are gone again :-( I already tried 6 other M92T36, but PIN 6 hasn't got any volts. Any ideas what I can check/recheck? The replaced/added resistors look okay as far as I can tell. thanks!

Hardware Multiple shorted caps near P13USP, M92T36 and ALC5639

if the solution from @Mightyjebus doesn't work, check if the solder joints of these caps are REALLY touching the caps. I once had an issue that a solder joint was broken and this caused the same issue as you described it.

    Hardware M92t36 pin 6

I found the issue which was causing 0V on PIN 6 of the M92T36!! :-D it was caused by two missing caps next to the power flex cable and cartridge/touch connectors! I took these two from a different board and installed them on my damaged one. Voilà got 3,5V on PIN 6 of the M92T36. HTH

Hardware Two dead mainboards - same symptoms

How do you measure these parts when LCD and backlight flex cables are connected? I did it without LCD flex connected, but I'll try it with it attached, thanks! So you checked the crystal with a multimeter, but in which mode ohm, diode,..? Sorry but I didn't get the description. I don't know...

Hardware Two dead mainboards - same symptoms

hey @SheriffBuck ! I read your posts and I've got two questions: * I checked the TI TPS61163A on a working and a faulty port and I get 4,1V with the AC adapter plugged in. Am I doing/checking something wrong? * Is there another way to check if the STD-MUA9 Tuning Fork Crystal running at...
