New romhack website "Romhacks.org" is now open for public hack submissions

Due to that reply, I replaced the "hosted at" with "using" in my previous reply. Cloudflare does have a hosting option but yeah.. Even without looking at stats I'm pretty sure it is correct that their reverse proxy is way more popular. I saw increasingly more people talking about the hosting...

New romhack website "Romhacks.org" is now open for public hack submissions

    - Default layout that I dislike - No imprint or at least about us and contact form - No source / open development of the site (fun fact: vndb gave me the idea) - big Discord logo in the upper right edge and mentioning Elon's playground as contact way — both proprietary walled gardens. - Google...

Hacking Hardware Found a supercard dstwo+

Some more context: https://gbatemp.net/threads/fake-dstwo-clone-new-revision.495273/ Can't find older stuff but answers are good enough there.

ROM Hack [Tutorial] Updated Guide to Editing the Home Menu

Follow this guide: https://3ds.codeberg.page/homemenu/ (That's the one in my signature.) And use HMRT.sh; not a .bat (Windows batch file). HMRT.bat (and likely this edited version here as well) has had problems in WINE (not sure about newest WINE) that is why HMRT.sh was initially started. One...

ROM Hack [Tutorial] Updated Guide to Editing the Home Menu

Does HMRT.sh work for you? There is one step that still has a wine dependency but that should not matter if it really did not work since it is not needed when LayeredFS is used.

Tutorial How to create a custom 3DS home menu [Updated 2020]

Just FYI since people seem to find this thread when it comes to editing the Home Menu. I decided to clone the guide by Dungeonfire since he won't return (RIP) and clarify parts that people had trouble with in the past: https://3ds.codeberg.page/homemenu/ (Repo: https://codeberg.org/3DS/homemenu)...

Tutorial How to create a custom 3DS home menu [Updated 2020]

I'm on Arch Linux myself tho I have a ton of packages. The script itself has some bashisms so you should use bash or zsh as a shell until they are replaced with POSIX alternatives. Besides that, one script in the HMRT subfolder is written in python but it isn't used, also the jar is not used, so...

ROM Hack How to change Japanese Keyboard ?

It can be done without a region change. There are several threads on this on gbatemp. E.g: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-does-one-get-the-japanese-keyboard.474686/ https://gbatemp.net/threads/replace-3ds-keyboard-without-changing-region.428954/

    Hardware Mouse clicking worn out

Actually you may just need to bend that metal spring thing. That solved double clicking problems on a mouse of mine (did it on the 10th of december in 2017 and it's still working). But it needs a lot of patience. Here a tutorial with pictures...

The original Half-Life gets an update

In these days it's easy to push updates and since they are still selling it is they should push bugfixes anyways. What does that "certain pathes" thing mean? I never played the game but I guess there must be some kind of terminal to enter commands at some point? What paths aren't useable...

ROM Hack [Tutorial] Updated Guide to Editing the Home Menu

Ok basically the script just saves some time but dungeonfire's tutorial and the documention on Google Docs goes more deep. The color editor is fine but I would rather see some editor that would display how it would look on the system. Also I think it's possible to move elements and the color...

German court ruling bans using "coming soon" for release dates in regards to pre-orders

Actually vague dates were kind of illegal before. E.g. terms like "shipping normally between x and y dates" or "instant shipping possible" were illegal before. That's why the consumer organisation of North Rhine-Westphalia (Verbraucherzentrale NRW) took action. And that's absolutely a good thing...

    Suggestion Priortize helpful posts

Just before I suggested this idea I read a thread about someone complaining about a shop site. The shop owner answered later (& got many likes) and it turned out that the OP was just a very impatient costumer. Obviously the OP is not going to quote the response. Also the quoting thing doesn't...

    Suggestion Priortize helpful posts

Ok. I have seen something similar (helpful posts are entirely decided by the number of likes; may not be the best solution tho) on other sides where it works really well (from my view as a regular visitor), but I guess it's not only how someone would implement that (I think the unresponsiveness...

    Suggestion Priortize helpful posts

From time to time I see threads where important information is not on page 1 but in a later post somewhere between a lot of pages. So I have my suggestions here: - Give the OP the possibility to select posts that should be shown after the first post but "spoiler"-like and with red border or...
