Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Hey guys! Small update about my bsod after picofly install: I put an ungodly amount of pressure on the bottom ram and this happened. After I released the ram it imediately went back to blue screen. Also now blue screen is hit or miss. Sometimes I just get a black screen, unplug the battery...

So you got magnets that are the height you need for the stencil to be flush with the chip? Did I understand right? I'm really interested in this approach since the proper jigs are too expensive for me.

Hey! Do you mind if I ask what setup you use for reballing the eMMC? I was thinking of just ordering the stencil and solder paste. Do you use one of those jigs with a proper measured stencil? Do you use solder balls or solder paste? Best regards!

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Hey @abal1000x , remember this post from some time ago? Well, since then I found what appears to be a bit of damage to the 3 traces by the clk point, some light scratching, probably being dumb cutting the shield with inappropriate tools. I hadn't noticed because it's so close to the APU...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Hey guys, back again. About my previous problem of only being able to use UMS-Loader, I went back and looked at the whole thing closer. Since only that payload was able to run and that kinda points to a RAM issue, might this be the f-up I've been looking for? Those 3 lines by the big ground...

HWFLY Switch can't boot into Hekate

I would say that isn't the best reply for someone in a help thread. Mine actually is an OLED and I'm using the picofly, but that's not the point. I don't understand why people who are not willing to help take the time just to be unhelpful and bitter torwards people who are just trying to get...

HWFLY Switch can't boot into Hekate

Hey there! Kinda the same problem over here, rp2040 glitches, no sd card screen shows, but hekate won't. Can you guys try UMS-Loader as the payload and see if that works? It's the only payload that works for me and it looks like it might be due to DRAM.

Even between Erista and Mariko? I have an unpatched switch and I never use it online. Because by luck they are both on 16.0.3. Would flashing that boot0/1 work? (Also, I have AutoRCM in my unpatched switch, I assume I would need to turn it off before the backup of boot0.)

Okay, I forgot to reply to this, sorry. No, Lockipck won't run, just ums-loader, so no prod.keys. I'm going to search for a way to build a boot0/1 and try to flash with etcher, but not sure if there's any way to do that without prod.keys. If anyone knew about this, help would be appreciated...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

About the emmc corruption, @abal1000x seems the most knowledgeable in emmc stuff (sorry if I'm wrong, haven't been active here for long). Even with dat0/1 short shouldn't hekate boot? I have the bad adapter, is it even worth it to remove it and cut the lobe from the dat1 side like you suggest if...

Yeah, but I never made a boot0/1 backup since I never got to hekate. And besides, how can I know the blue screen is caused by a corrupt boot0/1. Since GPP is good doesn't it mean the dat0/1 are not shorting?

For that I would need to launch Lockpick right? Or am I completely lost here? Btw I have edited the other post with more info.

Yes, mounting GPP with ums-loader! I can post the error with boot0/1 in a bit, doing a user partition backup and it's taking a while. In the background it's possible to see the contents of GPP, and in the other screenshot there's all the contents of GPP (except user.bin which is still doing)...

Okay, small update, the switch is back from the dead and I have display. I used HacDiskMount instead of DiskGenius, but I got GPP to mount and made a copy of all files just to be sure. Boot0/1 won't mount though. Is that an indication of Dat0/1 short? I'm basically back to square one, no sd...

Yeah, even if I went the jumper wire route, the scratch is so close to the connector latch that I'm afraid the jumper wires won't let the cable go into the connector enough to make good contact.
