    Absolutely impossible to know. If I were in your shoes, I'd honestly look into selling your 9.4 and buying a used <9.2 3DS or even just trading. Unless you've a metric shitton of 3DS estore downloads that you can't bear to lose, you'll probably come out ahead.

    December 18 is a big day. I think 2 3DS titles drop in Japan (FF Explorers, Sonic) and that should hopefully give us a game with 9.2. Or they could be toying with us, drop 8.x and then the next round of games could all be 9.3+ :P

    Can't let it die? :p The issue is that Nintendo only has to look at the new possible exploits added by 9.0. They've had a few months to look at every possible exploit from only the new code. Maybe that's what took them so long. I'd bet closer to 50-50 they patched at least one exploit that...

    Fixing an error you don't know about is very hard, like he said. But you're also right in that Nintendo has a very narrow spectrum to examine. Changes made from 8.x to 9.0 is all they needed to look at, after all. While it may not have been feasible for them to examine every possible variable...

    This is my big hope. It's unlikely Nintendo took a stab in the dark and got it righ,t unless a NinjaHax operation was used, but it sure is possible. Makes me nervous, I'll be much happier when Gateway makes a post confirming one way or the other.
