I'm not too sure what an RV is, and why you posted this in the GBA hardware section, but I recommend plugging it in your computer, backing up the games and saves, formatting it then putting the games back on and a newly downloaded system settings

I'm no expert on DS hardware and the such, but I don't think its repairable short of opening the DS up and fixing the loose connections.
And how long was your warranty for, it might still be covered?
If you mean to have XP or Vista running on the DS, I don't believe it will ever happen, due to the RAM and the Processor specs. They do have linux running there though, but not to its best capabilities.

And all this seems a bit much just to clone a pokemon, when you can just play the game from the .sav in Visual Boy Advance and 'shark one in, then put the .sav back in the DS.
If you have a working internet connection and a paypal, you can order a flashcart online. And they aren't terribly expensive, the DSTT is only 6.70 US on Deal Extreme.
