Broken display when Picofly has SD card

Wasn't able to find any cut traces between the CPU and the RAM. Instead, there was a missing capacitor and resistor that connected the MAX77812 to basically everything. But yeah, thanks for saying it was a possible trace to ram issue. The picofly is now working perfectly. (Was able to grab the...

Broken display when Picofly has SD card

After doing a replacement on the Type-C port (One side has both Data lines OL), I decided to do an install of Picofly. Turning it on, no error codes and the screen shows the "No SD Card" screen with the SD card out. With a MicroSD card inserted with Sthetix's newest HATS, this shows up. When...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well, I used a Pinecil V2 with the TS-D24 Tip set at 250C. As for the Solder itself, I just use a non-brand 60/40. These work well enough when installing a picofly on the OLED. Do you use any flux?

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I tried to install an Instinct NX V6 on an OLED, but no matter what I do it just won't work. Well, one Seeed Studio's Xiao RP2040 chip ordered from Amazon and a day later. I had to add a 100R resistor to the D0 line after initial startup because SYSMMC booting didn't work. And also cut a hole...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Data Train reset or something like that? I used it after updating to 2.75 (and after 40 minutes of restoring backup) and when I restarted the console, I got a purple screen and an empty eMMC partition table (again).

One more thing, if you already updated to 2.75 using the toolbox (by pressing the update a couple of times) and use the retrain function on the clones, it will also makes the eMMC go away.

If the Partition Table is empty, then yes, your eMMC also got erased by the pico update process. If you have a backup, restore it.

Yeah, I finally got a 0806 resistor combo pack and added a 100R resistor and it did the trick.

FW17 with all of the homebrew apps I got from Sthetix's updated HATS pack. Hekate is on version 6.0.7 and Atmosphere is on version 1.6.2.

So I managed to flash the 2.75 firmware update after a couple of install (alongside losing the entire eMMC storage) using the retrain chip from the picofly toolbox will also erase the eMMC. And I still cannot boot into OFW nor CFW(SysMMC). It just goes into the Nintendo Logo, and then...

I don't know what magic you used, but that fixed the error code problem.

So, there was a reddit post by someone who also got the same problem and they got told to retrain the pico. Well, it does work and no longer black screens after the Nintendo Logo. But.... Sadly, I just return to the same error code that started all of this mess.

The one that comes with the Flex Cable. As for the installation. I followed Sthetix's YT guide and went do with enameled copper wires because the Flex did prevented me from booting to OFW the first time I did the install. I'm going to have to bring this to the workbench to see if the soldering...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

So, I decided to turn on my switch to OFW and got error code 2002-3539. Saw it was a problem with the NAND, but eMMC partitions was still there and it does pass through the Nintendo Logo and the Switch Logo before hitting the error. Checked my RP2040 Flyboard-clone firmware version and saw there...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I redid the kapton tape and now it functions even with back plate on (I still have like 5 screws of the metal shield removed because I got too lazy). So yeah, thanks for making me re-check the tape. Now only problem with this is that SysMMC and OFW goes to a black screen and does not work, but...
