    Hrmmm, perhaps you HDD shuts down (goes into standby mode) once it loads the game and is no longer required then when you close the game an return to the menu the HDD is asleep and it fails to recognise a HDD being connected. It may need a y splitter usb power cable to keep constant power.

    Hrrrmm. I've just checked and USB loader gx is definitely using IOS 249, still no good though. When I put the wbfs files on the HDD, I just dragged and dropped them after downloading. Did I need to have used some manager first or it that only when ripping from a disc/iso? If everything seems...

    It's an actual 1tb USB portable HDD. I downloaded the wbfs ROMs in NTSC not on purpose but as I had read that the usb loaders are region free so I wasn't worried when getting the NTSC copies.
