    I just checked, it's effected by the ban :( (I used Generations, but I assume it's the same across all the 3DS releases)

    I would do it just for your own peace of mind, personally. That's what I did myself, and even though I'm a bit annoyed that I'm banned, it feels much better to know that I am instead of just doubting it all day ^^
