    No need to remove any capacitor, just cut the wire and solder, that's it. I've done it twice now without any issues.

    I was dealing with the same yesterday. I ended up cutting away the "SP1" pads. The left "SP2" pad is soldered to the upper part of the cap and the right pad is left unsoldered since it's connected with the bottom ground pad.
