    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

Thank you for all of this great info! I found some canned air and will give it a shot as well as compare my reader to your pic. BTW, I love the crazy ideas in the thread you linked (like soldering in an SD card adapter for micro SD)! I also found a replacement reader for a WiiU on ebay (might...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

I copied over my USBLoaderGX files and a backup of Super Mario Galaxy to an old 8GB flash drive and it launched! So that brings me back to the purpose of this thread; get some form of brick protection on this Wii before I give it to my niece and nephews. Obviously, I need to pursue the...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

I used IOS Installer to install IOS36 as ISO236 successfully. Then, as XFlak recommended, I installed the other wads using YAWMM on the IOS236. Now, I am moving the files onto a bigger flash drive to see whether USBLoaderGX can load a backup.

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

All that's there is the <?xml...> header, then: <app version="1"> <name>Yet Another Wad Mgr</name> ... version, release_date, coder, short_description, long_description </app> Do I need to put <ahb_access/> within <app>? or before it? after it? Are there any other things that...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

A quick update: I formatted an old 1GB flash drive as FAT32, placed it in USB0 and an old, incompatible SD card in the slot. Having both present stopped HBC from throwing exceptions so I wa finally able to select USB as the source for apps. I loaded the the USB with the ModMii results and...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

Thank you, I am following it now. His appears to be a HDD failure. My guess is that the exception occurs whenever there is a problem with the storage device. I think that if it is absent or improperly mounted, HBC grays its button out.

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

The Homebrew Channel does the moment I select 'USB' or 'SD' from the menu reached after pressing the '1' button. auto For example, when I click 'SD Card', I get a black screen with white text that reads: Exception (DSI) occurred! GPR00 813DA1A8 ..... ... STACK DUMP: 813da1a8 --> 813da1a8 -->...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

I tried a 256MB SD by Lexar which USE to work. Apparently it died awhile back and USBLoaderGX moved all the files it needed to the external HDD. I didn't notice until tonight! Long ago I setup Priiloader (I think) to skip the system menu boot straight to USBLoaderGX on my son's Wii. I removed...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

First, thank you for making ModMii and thank you for your help! My plan was to softmod this Wii and give it to my young nephew and niece who have no access to consoles like the Wii. I could just give them this Wii with my game discs I guess, but I would prefer to make backups and share those...

    Hacking BootMii backup plan...

So, with the help of a couple of members of this forum, I've managed to get the HBC on my stubborn Wii. But now I am unsure how to proceed because of a snag I've run into. Though my Wii is capable of BootMii on boot2, I haven't been able to install it because the SD cards I have cannot be...

Hacking How do you repair a partially updated system menu?

So, after wifi was established, the Wii tried to update but found the console was already up to date. Thanks to your suggestions of trying a game save exploit, my focus was finally pulled away from the Letter bombing approach, leading me to Flashhax. I grabbed the internet channel from the...

Hacking How do you repair a partially updated system menu?

I will give it a try. I am using a new router so I will have to figure out how to get the wii talking to it without my notes. I remember having to change the router settings so that it would not switch channels and would prefer a particular one or something... That's why I was hoping for an...

Hacking How do you repair a partially updated system menu?

I went here: http://please.hackmii.com The update to 4.3U was just the vanilla type that anyone would have their Wii perform (no hacks that is). I think the router just flaked out during it.
