    It was charging the entire time I installed the cfw. I tried switching the battery out for one that I know for sure works too and that didn't change anything. The battery from the dead system worked in the other 3DS as well, so I don't think the battery itself is the issue.

    Yeah, I'm not sending it to Nintendo for sure. It's an extra old one I had access to so it's not a big loss.
