    Actually, I had to give it a real hard push to get it back on track, and now the whole 'open / close' thing is the result. I think it's prolly f**ked. But I'm not sure how to do this whole key thing. I had to have a piece soldered on to my old drive, then flash. That's the only way I know...

    I don't believe it's a problem with the laser, the whole mechanism isn't fully engaging. It just make a little click, then the drive opens... Weird.

    Actually, it opens and closes just fine, but the drive never 'engages' to read the disk. It sort of clicks, moves up about and eighth of an inch, then half second later disengages and opens... Is there any place to get a replacement drive already flashed, or has everything gone to this 'key'...

    I was having an issue getting my drive to open, so I took my box apart, and fixed that. Opens and closes no problem. However, now when I turn the damned thing on, the screen says, "Opening" (unless I open it, then it says, "Closing". The drive looks like it tries to engage, but doesn't. What the...

    Actually - I've been thinking a bit more on this....... What is this topology business I keep reading about? Is that my issue? I have my box upgraded to the lates IExtreme 3 - is that why I am having issues? Do I need to 'inject topology'? if so, how the heck do I do this?

    Well....... I will try to re install imgBurn, but it's gonna be a couple of days til I can try it out.... Those were my last 3 dual layers, and I have to wait until the new ones come from Amazon.. Thanks to you all, and will keep you in the loop if there are any more problems.

    I'm a little confused now... I do have a .dvd and a .iso...... However, I have always read that you are to run form the .dvd? What the hell? And I just always use Verbatim (or Taiyo) for burning anything...

    Thanks for sticking with me @jimmyemunoz.... So yeah... Two burns...two coasters. So I relfashed the drive. My understanding is that if I did it correctly: A) I would not get the truncate/overburn option (which I don't), and B) imgBurn would say that the free space on my disk is 8,738,897,920...

    Okay....So I got all things up and running, tried burning Metal Gear HD...... I get a message saying that the disk is not supported. I have set the layer break to calculate optimal. What could the issue be now?
