Homebrew [RELEASE] Howling Theme Tool - Create your own CIA theme packages with Custom and Official themes

On Windows 10, I was having problems with creating the cia. It would freeze/crash on the "Creating Icons" bit. Rebooting into safe mode and running the program there seemed to fix it. EDIT: Spelling

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

I'm curious, what are some cases someone would boot into sysNAND without the 9.0 FIRM by holding R? I feel like most of the time you would want the 9.0 FIRM so you can run things like HBL right?

Is it me, or does the brightness seem a little low in the menu?

Typically, a good starting temperature would be 700 degrees Fahrenheit with beginner components (LEDs, resistors, etc.). But I really don't know how sensitive the 3DS components are to heat

Hardware N3DS NAND backup possible, I hope.

I fixed mine by making a small, dense wad of tape and sticking on top of the black ZIF connector. So whenever I put the casing back on it would push against the tape, therefore fully closing the connector. It's a pretty "meh" solution but it works lol

Try pulling them out while lifting the flap, again don't lift it too much.

If you need to lift them then do so, but be very gentle! Whenever I tried to disassemble the motherboard I lifted the black flaps up too far, so after I reassembled everything the mic and the home button wasn't working because those black flaps weren't resting properly on the ribbon cables.

Here, this might help you: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+3DS+XL+2015+Motherboard+Replacement/4136 You need to flip open the flaps to remove the ribbon cables. But DO NOT lift up the black flaps! They're not meant to be lifted up and if you may end up damaging them.

How did you install that black box into the micro usb cable? I just mounted the micro usb breakout board to my 3DS like you have pictured. That cable looks much nicer than having a micro SD adapter stuck at the end of it :P

You need to pop off those "gold squares." Just get a flat screw head or something and gently pry it off, it should detach and pop off.

I'm familiar with Ohm's law, but if I'm reading you right you're saying that the larger the diameter of the wire the more resistance? Because if so then that's not true :P EDIT: Oh and I'm not trying to argue with you or anything I'm just trying to get a better understanding of it all :)

You're gonna hate me, but why? lol. I did a little research and the only thing that changes when shrinking the wire size is higher resistance and a higher voltage drop (though we're not working with large distances so this one seems negligible). The only benefit I'm seeing with using higher...

I posted this question in that other hard modding thread but I'll post it here too. How important is the gauge of the wire that you use? I see a lot of people recommending 30 AWG, but I only have 20 AWG wire (I think, it's the wires used with breadboards, Arduino, etc.). And also, I have wire...

How important is it to use 30 AWG wire? I currently have 20 AWG wire and I didn't know if it would be okay to use that. I do have some wires that are very close to 30 AWG but they are stranded instead of solid. How would that affect the read/write process to the eMMc?

I have a quick question. What is the point of creating a separate txt file with the MD5 hash after you make a nand dump? Is this just a personal touch you do or is it something that is required?
