  • For a long time it was hard for me to see the Metroid series going anywhere after Fusion's ending. Why?

    >their home planet got destroyed

As much as I really like the PS3, I'll admit that it's the reason why Valve gave up on developing for game consoles.
I wonder what the current status of PS3 and PS Vita Online play is? Has, say, say the former's service been shut off completely by Sony now? Please not like this!
Discord has not been working for me on my Laptop since sometime yesterday. keeps saying that it crashed unexpectedly.

Oh, then it doesn't make sense. Considering Home, and assuming you didn't neuter it, it's probably just a GPU driver update which broke hardware acceleration.

@Sono Okay, so what can I do about it in this case?

I have no idea, sorry. I once did manage to get it working when it happened to me, but I forgot how I did it.

Once you manage to get in, turn off hardware acceleration immediately. It causes many problems for me (usually game crashes), so I have turned it off a long time ago.

Alternatively you can use the web browser. While inconvenient, at least you still have access.
How do you get audio files to play on an R4 SDHC Gold Pro equipped with Ysmenu? I put in .mp3 music files, and they won't show up...
Do the DSTWO, DS 4-in-1, and Acekard 2i flashcarts have a timebomb, or are they among the ones known not to have anything like that?

Timebombs only affected specific R4 clones, anything else and you shouldn't have any problems. Don't recall which specific ones, since there were dozens, but for the most part if you avoid R4s you'll be fine. Still have my DSTwo and my launch day AK2i, both work just fine.

Worth noting the timebomb is only kernel deep. Replacing the kernel with either Retro’s files or Twimenu++ will fix it

They already damaged their own game back in 1.9; I find it very revealing that, even now, Bedrock never did get attackSpeed - weapon cooldown - even though it did get shields. It's like they know they fucked up back then, and aren't willing to destroy another version's combat mechanics, yet are reluctant to fix their massive screw-up in the original.

Honestly, that and the newly-introduced permanent bans are two major reasons to leave Microjang in the dust; the Swedish company is no longer as good as it used to be.

1.9 I think was actually good with the new PvP stuff, but they decided to fuck it up majorly this time around. I know that’s a hot take, but whatever.

    Either way, this is ridiculous

Was looking up prices for the Megaman Starforce games (especially SF1 Pegasus) and BN2. DAMN! All copies that have not already been snapped up are in the triple digits! The DS isn't even 20 years old, come on!

    Collecting?
    If no... emulate the game.
Whenever I try to put in the device setup password into the password section of
the Sign-in area for my PS3, the virtual keyboard doesn't come up, and instead screen gets darker.
Where did the questions section of the site go after the last major site overhaul?

It's gone. Now you have to choose either: "Thread" / "Poll" / "Question" when creating a thread.

So if you want to ask something, say, about the PSP, you go to the PSP forum, make a thread and choose "Question" to turn it into one.
Gee, I wonder why neither Wii U nor Switch BOTW have nearly as many crashes nor freeze glitches as LE Skyrim nor Fallout 3?

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
