    Hacking Hyrule Warriors save editing

Hey, nice work you've done! What is your process for discovering data locations in the save file? I want to do something similar for Pokken (and it helps that Loadiine makes for easy access to save data). Did you just copy the save, make a small change in-game, then copy the new save, and...

Hacking Wii U Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

Definitely true, but I also intend on running homebrew and game backups eventually. That's the impression I got. There's a few busy months ahead of me, so I'm sure I can stand the wait. At least now I can get a good deal on a used Wii U, so there's that. Thanks again!

    >semi-new Does that exclude 5.5.1? Would you advice against buying a 5.5.1 Wii U right now? Thanks so much for your answers!

How come? And where's the breaking point for a "useful" firmware version? Would someone currently stuck on 5.5 be as well off as someone on 4.5?

Once the IOSU exploit comes out, it doesn't matter whether you're on, say, 2.0.0 or 5.5.1 right? All currently released firmwares would be exploitable to the same degree?

Wouldn't that be irrelevant once the IOSU exploit comes out?

Care to elaborate on that a bit? Haven't seen it mentioned in my quick read-through of the material here.

Hacking Wii U Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

Quick question, just to make sure. If I want to run homebrew and game backups on my Wii U, I'm fine buying one that's on 5.5.0, assuming I can wait a month or two? And am I correct saying there's no practical difference between 5.5.0 and 5.5.1? Thanks!

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I installed a hardmod. Upon booting up the 3DS it shows the blue booterror screen as expected. Connecting it to my computer shows the device on the E:\ drive, but Win32DiskImager doesn't list any device (even when run as administrator), and using dd for windows tells me the drive is not ready...

Hardware What's the unix dd command to backup/restore the 3ds nand?

Does the block size matter, or can I just leave it at default (512 bytes I believe)?

Hardware nand flash dump (3ds xl)

So, the 3DS-side soldering was a success, the device still works fine. Deep sigh of relief. Now, am I correct in saying the device needs to be turned on in order to read/write the nand? This'd mean I have to mess up my case so I can get the wires outside, with the battery still in. I'm on OS X...

The cli command? Yep, looks like it does. Will have to read up on how to use that for this purpose, then.

Hardware nand flash dump (3ds xl)

Hey, I got a MBPr as well. Summer 2012 model. So I'll need to purchase an external SD card reader for this to function, the internal slot won't recognize it? Also, on OS X, what do you use for reading/writing NAND? I can't imagine you use it like a regular SD card, any tools you can recommend?

Oh boy, that's going to be a fun one. Not sure if I want to risk it, but I'll have to do my research on that. Thanks for the recommendation!
