Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

I decided to take a look at my IOS's with DOP-Mii and discovered that quite a few of them are version 65535, which I believe to have come from my use of ciosCORP a few years ago. Is it safe to use DOP-Mii to update these files to the current versions used by System Menu 4.3?

Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

@neotant19 I do think it's my Wii that's at fault, but I will check to see if the disc works on another one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

No luck. Neither the v.0.7 installer or the v.0.8 installer run with Smash Stack or Loadmii. I did have ciosCORP wads on my Wii for a while, for convenience, but I got rid of them. I think. See, this is why I want to return my Wii to a completely unmodded state, so I don't have to worry about...

Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

Thanks for the guide, elbald90. I'll try it as soon as I can get the Homebrew Channel up and running again. Here's the issue I'm now having: the HackMii installer v0.8 refuses to run via the Smash Stack exploit, but other .elf files load fine (including an older version of the HackMii installer...

Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

@ramunerobot I'd rather not have to resort to making a back-up of a game I bought and should be able to play using the disc channel. The cut-scene freeze I'm referring to is not a random glitch, but the "Baby's Cry" cut-scene freeze, on which I have read various posts about, even regarding...

Hacking On Returning a Hacked Wii to a 4.3 Virgin State

I apologize if this post is similar in nature to some others, but I couldn't find information regarding my particular problem. Here's the story: I bought "Metroid: Other M" recently and sat down the other day to play it. The game worked normally until I got to a particular spot in the second...

Hacking Access Wii USB Drive over WiiConnect24

Thanks for your suggestions, guys. I ultimately found an old DC-Powered hard drive my father wasn't using, and am now using it to run my Wii games, with the first hard drive connected to my computer acting as a server. It would be nice if at some point it would be possible to stream Wii games...

Hacking Access Wii USB Drive over WiiConnect24

I was hoping I could avoid FTP for precisely this reason. Since I know the Wii is capable of downloading data over a wi-fi connection while in standby mode (because of WiiConnect24), I thought I could maybe map my Wii (well, actually, the hard drive attached to it) as a network drive, which...

Hacking Access Wii USB Drive over WiiConnect24

Actually, I wouldn't mind writing an app if I knew that other people would find it useful. The trouble is, while I have some experience in Java, I don't think what I know would be nearly enough to write an app sophisticated enough to carry out its intended purpose. I might still try sometime...

Hacking Access Wii USB Drive over WiiConnect24

That's actually a pretty good suggestion Krazykipa, except for the fact that I don't have enough space in my computer for all the data on my hard drive. I might end up getting another external drive sometime when I can find one discounted, which would solve that problem. For now though, I'll...

Hacking Access Wii USB Drive over WiiConnect24

I keep a lot of my media, including backed-up Wii games and recorded movies, on an external hard drive that is connected to my Wii. The advantage of this is being able to access my entire media collection and Wii game collection without having to swap discs in and out of the drive or constantly...

    Acekard Official Firmware v4.17

I'm having a problem. Whenever I go to a game on the AK2i, it seems to erase my save file and create a new one. Why is this the case, and how can I fix it?

    Gaming Okami save file needed

I recently received my Wii after a Nintendo repair only to find that all my save data was not recovered. That being said, the game I'm most worried about is Okami, because I had made significant progress in that game, and I am reluctant to start the whole thing over. After looking online for a...

Hacking My Wii Appears to be Bricked

This may or may not help in finding a solution to my problem other than dismantling my console or sending it in to Nintendo for a costly repair, so I'll tell it. Before attempting to install he files for CIOSCORP for 4.0, I had Preloader installed in case something went wrong. Indeed, when I...

Hacking My Wii Appears to be Bricked

Recently I was trying to install CIOSCORP for Wii Menu 4.0. Basically, it involved installing the normal wads for CIOSCORP via the Wad Manager, and then installing CIOS60BF.wad on top of that. I installed the files, but when I rebooted the Wii, I got an error message. Then, I rebooted the system...
