    If i'm note mistaken they're forced to do it by law(in a lot of countries), to update their system(for security resons), don't know for games, but i guess it's the same, they need to guarantee game support because of bugs... eshop is another story

    Nobody cares, but pretty sure that if another backup loader comes up without a brick code, everyone will be pretty happy to leave the sx ship. Just saying... because no one would chose a backup loader with bricking code in it, over another without brick code.

    It's not, you can't update with dumps in sx os, tryed bayonetta 2 to update to 4.1 but nothing.

    I tried to update to 4.1 with a cart, but seems like sx os can't "mount" games that don't match actual fw, so you can't even update from the dump, but maybe it's the game i sued which didn't have any update in the cart(owlboy)

    Yes OP linked to them, but we were guessing(probably wrongly) that because in those methods exfat drivers are extracted from some cartridge, maybe just using the same cartridges could be enough to trigger the exfat update without the guide. For example, in that list there's skyrim with 3.0.1...

    I don't want to upgrade, i just want to backup my nand in case of bricking, but i was wondering if 3.0.1 nand backup would be compatible with 5.x fw if i decide to upgrade(officially) in the future. Or if i need a 5.x nand to restore in case of brick.

    Just a simple question, i'm on 3.0.1 fw right now, if i backup my nand now, and the in the future i update to 5 or more, can restore the 3.0.1 backup nand on it? Or i would have to back up the 5.x nand and then restore that? Also, using sx os would be a problem if i backup a nand after using it...
