    Ive actually tried all videomodes and language set to English, but I have no idea what rev I have. Where do you check that? EDIT: When I boot the loader I can see IOS 249 [FRAG], isnt that where the rev should be? And my installation is just 1.12gb, shouldnt it be 1.4?

    nah a dvd+r and dvd-r burner are more expensive and uncommon than a sole dvd+r burner (I believe there are no dvd-r only burners). I myself had only dvd+r when I got my wii so I had to buy a new burner. But to your question, yes they both work , but dvd-r DL discs barely exist and are alot more...

    I believe they're called artifacts (or maybe artefacts in US English) and I have heard other people have it here. I don't know how to fix it, but you could try searching for artifacts

    Are you sure? I've always used 1x or very slow becuz that's what I've heard is the best for Wii games. I do have problems with em after a while some times, but they always work at first.
