Alright solder wire with flux core also leaves this kind of residue. Why is the black wire going to the metal casing? The right side of the capacitor is the voltage supply. If you ground this it will be a dead short.

The right wire on the mosfet is soldered badly.

Do you have flux? That will be helpful for such a task. Flux makes the solder flow and cleans the components connection points from dirt and corrosion. If you don't have that then this will be difficult.

The 2.5 version checks the id of the SPI flash on the pico and doesn't work on any pico using different flash. Including the standard Pico. Wait until version 2.6 is released. It should work with 2.6.

Get some Kapton tape and a bit of solder wick just in case. I would also recommend item 4000241968514. Just search for that number on the site and you will find it.

Yea I was informed. Good to know. Next time I will bridge them. That will definiteley improve the reliability of the connection.

When he successfully installed 200+ Hwfly then he will be able to install the pico. I personally don't think installing the pico is risky for an experiences person. I had no problem with the install and I never installed a modchip in my life. But I have around three years in microsoldering...

I don't think you are supposed to bridge these pads. You are only supposed to use one of them each. Look at the instruction photos.

You can leave the capacitor off and connect the leads without it. The CPU will probably still work as these capacitors are usually redundant to improve reliability. Do not just put any capacitor there without knowing the required value. The CPU will not be damaged by leaving the capacitor off.

Because the switch also generates a usb signal. Hooking it up like this will likely cause intereference and make the usb port useless while the switch is in use. Maybe you could also hook up the 5V from USB, there is als a testpad for that. Then you could flash the Pico while the Switch is off...

It should only take around ten seconds max to glitch on a correct install. Try shortening the wires, they are very long. Maybe add 20k resistor to the reset line.

The resistance between the two sides of the Cap should be around 15-40Ohms. It can be a little lower or higher. Zero means the SOC has internal damage.

I have tried the PGA2040 and no success. I added an ARGB LED to see the status and ist just flashes red once and then does nothing. I don't know what the reason could be. It is the same controller and the only real difference is the SPI flash which is a different model and much larger. I then...

It is a 4C10N and it works like a charm. I also added a 2.4K resistor between the gate and ground to immediately discharge the gate when not in use. It usually takes one second to successfully glitch the console. It rarely take up to ten seconds. I also got the payload working now. I was using...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

It now works with the Zero. I wanted to use the PGA2040, because I was able to grind on some grinding paper until it was really small. This is bigger but this spot appears to be made exactly for this pcb. It fit very snugly. My question now is which payload I am supposed to use. I renamed the...
