    Thanx. In the meantime I installed time machine addon for 6.61 and I am now on 6.61 ME-2.3!! Interestingly, it also offers me to install 6.61 OFW, and I have the same behaviour there. (No boot) But I am very happy now with 6.61 ME. So topic solved!

    OK ... some news. I think it is to do with my changed (time machine??) IPL. Even on CFW it does NOT boot without a memory stick with some files on it. If I insert a freshly formatted MS, it will not boot, if I reinsert the other 2 MSes (with some special files on them) it will boot.

    I don't think that this will help. rescue mode is only there on starfall. GC controller will not help you in preloader. try to start different WAD managers from SD-card. That is IMHO your best bet. (and than install sysmenu wad)

    Why do you need rescue mode (y on GC)?? You can start a dol directly from preloader, or you can use HBC! And all other starfall hacks are available in hacks.ini There is no need for starfall if you have preloader!
