To me the new game looks like a much improved version of the old and after playing the Beta I am quite impressed. The game looks great, had no noticable bugs, some hackers it seems, but Bungie will patch all the small things before release I am sure.
I would have preferred Bungie just update the original and make it free to play instead of turning it into a game series, but oh well.
Lets hope the community is a bit less homophobic and transphobic this time
