Hacking libdi and the DVDX installer Released

the Wii was designed with the DVD playback in mind. That's why these calls that libdi use exist. Anyone who claims that DVD playback damages the lens says so without any proof that this is the case.

Hacking Wii Homebrew + 1,200 Watt Portable Ganerator = Not Loading

Yes, because it's so easy to have a public transportation system comparable to England's, when their whole country ISN'T EVEN THE SIZE OF TEXAS.

Hacking Wii Homebrew + 1,200 Watt Portable Ganerator = Not Loading

You Brits don't have a right to complain about gas prices since the majority of your price comes from taxes, that's your own damn fault for not fighting bills that allow higher gas taxes. Not to mention that most Europeans don't commute 60 to 120 miles a day back and forth to work. The amount of...

Hacking Possiable ways to softmod the Wii

SD is not too slow. I've said this in another thread already. The Wii's disc drive reads at 6x, which is roughly 8 MegaBytes per second. SD card transfer speeds are between 10 and 20 MegaBytes per second. This is why, in the PSP scene, a lot of people prefer to rip their UMDs to their mem stick...

Hacking Possiable ways to softmod the Wii

So, if we're talking about a softmod here, who's to say someone wouldn't be able to find a way to do away with all that "blank" space on Wii discs? I'd also like to know, where can I go to see some real intelligent discussion of a softmod? The dumb to intelligent ratio here is staggeringly high.

Hacking Possiable ways to softmod the Wii

No, you're not allowed to speculate about life on other planets unless you have a degree in Biology. Stop using broken logic warez kiddies, it's getting old. Also, it's "allowed" not "aloud." Punch your English teacher in the face for me, mm'kay?

    Hacking iso?

Wrong. The Wii's DVD drive reads at 6x, which is roughly 8 MBytes/sec. That's megabytes, not mibibits. SD cards typically have 10-20 MBytes/sec transfer rates. I seriously wish this board wasn't so full of so many "l33t h4xx0rs" that don't research anything before they start blabbering off about...

Hacking Why does Homebrew Channel still support USB Gecko?

If you don't already know why a USBGecko is still useful, then you shouldn't be bitching about it.

No, he had test mode ticked. Just un-tick test mode and it will burn just fine.

    Hacking Wii Cheat Thread

Similar to what cwcheat does for the PSP? I find cwcheat's in-game code finding unwieldy, but maybe something could be worked out in a later release of this Ocarina thing to have an in game cheat search function along with keyboard support for easy editing? I'm sure something could be worked in...

Hacking Wii Pack Generator - now online

FOur2o: Go diaf. OT: Not going to be using this app, using the Wiibrew name when you're not even affiliated with Wiibrew.org is just wrong.

    Hacking Geexbox problem

As far as I know the Wii can only output 480i/p Which is 640x480 of course, that probably why you're getting a black screen. As for the video problem, maybe GeeXbox automatically does a pan and scan? or the video you're watching has a higher resolution than 640x480 and it doesn't downscale?

Hacking On the ability to play backups without drive chip

I'm pretty sure someone will come up with a way to "downgrade" new Wiis.

Hacking On the ability to play backups without drive chip

So build a custom IOS with support for those things, but take out the DVD-R patch.

Hacking On the ability to play backups without drive chip

Not really, not without SDHC support. Right now a DL DVD is your best bet for large or multiple video file playback. edit: Not to mention the file size limitations, I happen to have an origin film copy of Ben-Hur, suffice to say its a 7GB xViD file now, and with the size limitations of the FAT...
