    By reverting commit referenced in that issue (e8a92bf5e6c022210cd7b661dc408153ba0e9015) and recompiling the kernel I was able to get past the "Timeout waiting for hardware interrupt" problem.

    Try running the final command as rootsudo ../../imx_usb_loader/imx_usb -c .
