    I modded my first gba many months ago, replace the screen and shell and put a rechargeable battery in it. Honestly, I did a terrible job, trimmed the shell too much and the screen didn't have enough surface to stick on, so i had to glue the screen to the shell and I drilled a hole in the battery...
