    and if you have never softmodded the wii and have newer firmware (I think 4.0 and newer) you first need to install (IOS249 aka. cIOS38 rev14.) using the Trucha Bug Restorer method

    You post was clear except it didn't tell that modchip users with untouched non-trucha firmwares (such as official 4.1E) need to install a cIOS FIRST before trying the 1st or 3rd listed modchip methods

    thanks for putting me in the right direction, I had to do the Trucha bug restorer thing before being able to install the cIOS. now my console is soft and hard modded

    it didn't work on my g6 lite , the screen stays white when the game is launched. What should I do ? EDIT: Ok it just worked by enabling Safe Mode
