    @mattytrog : I just tested a USB only device and it did not work... It powered my bluetooth audio dongle but wouldn't switch over to USB audio mode. So something is definitely up with the data lines... I checked for shorts on the +/- lines but didn't find anything. I damaged the right test pad...

    @kylum : I checked the board for shorts on d+/- at the place where the test pins are above the usb port. Nothing bridged. During the modification process I did, however, damage the right test pad and it came up off of the board... i ended up just scratching the little trace above it and soldered...
