Costco has been selling digital codes at a discount for PS, Nintendo and Xbox for awhile (at least couple of years) now. I normally pick up the 100 bucks one for $89.99, in store only. People will hate me for saying this, but it's bigger than us! Manufacturing costs are ridiculous right now, and digital is easier and faster! Even Ubisoft said get use to not owning your games! This was something foretold and already warned...

Is the data really true or they cherry pick something? Only 3% physical? If that's the case then you the consumer only has yourself to blame. Guess I'm also to blame since I also 100% digital. There's no space in the room to store physical.
