    Interesting. Do you know what tool OP uses to open these files? I downloaded this and attempted to open the texture .ctpk files in ohana3ds rebirth, but I just got an exception.

    So, you just opened the game's textures and replaced them with some from NSMB DS, then recompiled the game? If it is really that easy, I might want to try this out... You say that even the NSMBU backgrounds are just multiple layers. Perhaps we could change them to the backgrounds of NSMB DS...
