    Aha okay I see, so the writer is the basic component and likely wouldn't have an issue writing the data. The tagmo application was specifically designed to write amiibo data to an NFC tag and no such application/software is currently available for a usb/pc method. thanks for the information...

I do NOT however have or have access to a compatible mobile phone to use the NFC capabilities. Can someone confirm if a usb writer would be able to write amiibo...
