Solving logical memory block errors on my secondary hard drive with the right Linux tools for this task

I wish that was the case. Maybe an admin can still move it if that's the case, but I've found no great places to post it in this forum.

Solving logical memory block errors on my secondary hard drive with the right Linux tools for this task

I'm experiencing a logical (not mechanical) HDD problem where I am not allowed to write a new partition of my secondary hard drive located on /dev/sdb, this error happened days ago while I was trying to stop gnome disk from erasing my empty drive after migrating all of my files locally over my...

A little help with automated vector image duplication for frame-by-frame animations (advanced)

This forum article is vastly different from what I usually write here in this website, but anyway.. I was always been fascinated by 2D sprite animations done by people on sites like youtube and wanted to do something myself by using mostly free and open source programs that are compatible with...

List of games I have in my library that might be hard to dump for the NEO2/retrodumper DS dumping utilities:

WARNING: this is a follow-up from the following thread, please read the whole opening segment of that message carefullu in order to better understand what I'm currently doing (I kept these two messages separated so that we could possibly create a more well-refined strategy for dumping and...

Sharing my latest progress with dumping DS ROMs with my own hardware (personal archive project)

I might have gone with ReactOS for that but I guess it's still alpha-grade software at the moment despite having plenty of nightly builds being released.

Dumping R4 flash cart contents with the help of a computer running Linux

This is a parallel thread focusing on specific method for dumping of R4 cartridges in particular and adding their contents to my own personal archive. I might keep other DS-related discussions to another separated thread entirelly for finding other ways for saving my own personal DS game...

(retro pc gaming) saving some of my old early 2000s windows pc games into a modern hard drive for building a personal archive

If I remember correctly, some of the PC game I had only asked for a disc drive to be present during the installation process. A lot of time has passed since the last time I've played them, so I really wonder how they will beware once I'll get most of the dumps ready to be played with WINE and...

(retro pc gaming) saving some of my old early 2000s windows pc games into a modern hard drive for building a personal archive

another plan I have is to use bin/cue files for the archivial of disc data (which is more well-supported at least) or maybe even .img files if there's a benefit in using them other than simple .iso files. I don't know what kind of protection they might have since they're all basically old CDs...
