    Hi all, on a wii which is softmodded with CiosCorp and preloader, and has system menu 4.0u whats the best way to make it a complete virgin again? Would doing an official update work? and of course clearing the sd card? Thanks

    If your on XP or older use partition magic 8 and for vista just go to start\right click on computer\manage\storage devices.

    As has been said always read guides you know can be trusted (example are ones which have lots of replies etc and on trusted site) and be sure to have bootmii installed and a backup nand dump. Also preloader to disable any on disc updates which can brick your wii.

    I updated my wii just a few days ago using that same guide (i was already on 3.2e hacked) and it all went lawlessly, did you by chance use the 4.2E firmware instead of the 4.2U?

    Yeah i have pre loader installed with all the needed hacks enabled, now i have a second problem, im trying to use usb loader gx i have it installed as a channel, it loads i partition my drive then it goes to a black screen and says error (dsi) exception and loads of code and the wii crashes...

    Hi thanks for the links, sorry to sound dumb but i just get more confused, i've read the guide and it mentions bannerbomb and hackmii etc, but i already did those to get my wii in its current state. Do i need do those again to get to 4.2e? And then re install HBC etc?
