    Ahh that makes sense, yes thats right, when I press select I get the layout as you posted above, but as you said the alternate menu I explained is the twighlight menu, I think that confused me, but just went into the rom folder loaded an NDS rom no problems, so issue was on my lack of knowledge...

    Done thanks for the reply, I'll just blame you if I get told off for double posting :p :) Its not the menu that it should be as shown in every guide i've checked :( Its basically the normal home screen but instead of icons its folders as per the SD card.
